Adaptive Methods products were demonstrated during the LCS ASW Mission Package Rollout events. Demonstration events, showing off the diversity of capabilities of the ASW Mission Package, were conducted at the Admiral Kidd Club on the Naval Base at Point Loma, San Diego during the week of September 15-19. The Program Executive Office for Littoral and Mine Warfare (PEO-LMW), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport, Space and Naval Warfare Command (SPAWAR) and SPAWAR Systems Center (SSC), San Diego, hosted the event.
Bill Matuszak, VP of Mission Systems, and Barclay Roman, VP of Engineering and Operations, represented Adaptive Methods at the planning and exhibition events, which included the main reception, sponsored by the Navy League, on Thursday, September 18. At this event, the LCS Detachment and NUWC personnel demonstrated the Mission Package Compute Environment (MPCE) systems in operation in the two TEU enclosures. The Contact Management Data Fusion (CMDF) system was demonstrated in the display van with simulated data. Quite a bit of attention was concentrated, by visitors as well as the operators, to the CMDF display during the constantly running demonstrations.
The Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) was highlighted during the exhibitions with demonstrations of the vehicle performing high-speed maneuvers in the adjoining waters. The Underwater Towed Array System (UTAS) as well as USV were available on land for show and tell. Other package components available for viewing were the storage TEU or Pack-Up Kit (PUK), the Vertical Takeoff Unmanned Air Vehicle (VTUAV), and the Sea Talon Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV).
The ASW Mission Package Rollout was well attended by Navy Command Staff and visiting Navy personnel, LCS Detachment Commander and the Detachment personnel, NUWC and SSC Technical leads, Mission Module Developers, Mission Package Integrators, and contractor personnel. Deputy Director of Surface Warfare, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Rear Adm. Michael K. Mahon, and Commodore, LCS Class Squadron, Capt. Lewis Chris Nygard, spoke at the event.
