Project Engineer | Multiple Sites
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Provide senior level technical direction, leadership, and management of engineers and project personnel in the execution of the requirements definition, design, development, fabrication, integration, validation, verification and test of hardware and software systems for various military and commercial applications
- Provide technical leadership for modern Navy sonar and tactical control software development programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by program managers, officers and directors
- Lead a multi-disciplined team of systems and software engineers, human-system interface specialists, and automated sonar information processing engineers.
- Direct engineers and technicians in advanced requirements definition and subsequent design and development activities while ensuring adherence to performance and procedural requirements
- Support technical proposal efforts by defining technical concepts, preparing costs, and providing inputs to technical proposals
- Lead development of sensor processing and data fusion software activities
- Support product development, integration, qualification, and on-time delivery
- Support sub-system and system level integration of products into customer applications
- Provide formal and informal technical channels of communication with customers, suppliers, and functional organizations for the establishment and execution of technical plans and programs.
- Identify, forecast, and coordinate technical resource requirements to meet the business base projections of assigned programs.
Applied Skills:
- Modern software engineering and Java, C/C++ coding experience
- Navy sonar and Anti-Submarine Warfare systems engineering experience
- In-depth knowledge of automated information processing system design
- Open architecture hardware and software computing environments
- Processing segment interfaces and systems software integration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years progressive and responsible engineering experience, including project lead of at least one major development project requiring customer interface.
- Must have demonstrated theoretical and practical experience in the design, development, fabrication and integration of complex electronic/mechanical assemblies and associated software.
- Demonstrated multi-organizational team leadership ability in implementing advanced systems for tactical military platforms.
- History of positive interface with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal functional organizations.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
