Lead Project Engineer | Centreville, VA
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Provide technical leadership for a modern Navy sonar and tactical control software development program. This program will provide the operational Navy fleet with a new multi-model display workstations, multi-sensor fusion, and tactical contact engagement management capabilities.
- Lead a multi-disciplined team of systems and software engineers, human-system interface specialists, and automated sonar information processing engineers. The completed system will be deployed on naval surface combatants (DDG/CG) as the primary operator interface for the Fleet ASW Innovative Install initiative.
Skills:
- Strong systems engineering and technical leadership in sonar processing and display development programs
- Demonstrated multi-organizational team leadership ability in implementing advanced systems for tactical military platforms.
- Experience in automated target classification and tracking, multi-sensor fusion, target state estimation and TMA, and tactical displays are desired.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelors of Science degree in engineering, computer sciences, mathematics, or physics with ten or more years experience in sensor processing software development is required.
- Modern software engineering and Java, C/C++ coding experience
- Navy sonar and Anti-Submarine Warfare systems engineering experience
- In-depth knowledge of automated information processing system design
- Open architecture hardware and software computing environments
- Processing segment interfaces and systems software integration
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
