Assistant Facility Security Officer
Centreville, VA

 

Adaptive Methods, www.adaptivemethods.com, headquartered in Virginia with offices in Maryland, Florida, Washington and Rhode Island, is a developer of advanced sensor processing and computing architecture products for surveillance, security and military combat systems.  We are a privately-owned defense contractor, which, in partnership with the federal government, addresses critical U.S. Navy Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) needs.

 

Applicants selected for employment will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, for access to sensitive information.

 

We are seeking a skilled individual to assist the Corporate, FSO with day-to-day security responsibilities such as submission of Visit Authorization Requests, management of Document Control, eQIP and fingerprint submissions, coordination of employee badges, assisting with security self-inspections, JPAS back up manager for the company, assist in coordination of office moves, coordination of holiday party and/or picnics and other front office administrative duties as required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
* Provide Visitor services including the following: Visitor Clearance currency (for classified meetings) and daily monitoring of Visitor Log.
* Maintain current list of Visitor clearances received.
* Maintain current list of Adaptive Methods Visitor clearances sent.
* Receive/sign for Priority Mail Express, Registered mail, classified material, and notify recipient.
* Monitor end-of-day checklist. Weekly monitoring of ASPL Safe and Visitor Logs.
* Transport and witness employee fingerprints and submit via SWFT.
* Training Receptionist, if internal hire, as well as relieving Receptionist for lunch and breaks.
* Oversee front office contracts/invoices.
* Coordinate hotel rates and holiday party with venue representatives.
* Assist with new employee facility orientations, to include security briefings.
* Order stationary and business cards for employees.
* Assist in coordinating office/staff moves, as necessary.
* Log in received classified documents and media into document control, notify appropriate recipient and send transmittal receipt to the sender, and accurate record keeping.
* Prepare classified material for mailing or hand carrying (when authorized) and the transmittal sheet. Log and file transmittal sheets/receipts for classified material sent.
* Enter documents into the Document Control database.
* Send documents to NSA for destruction.
* Security administration for classified meetings.
* Submit and maintain requests for RapidGate and CACs.
* Coordination of employee badges.
* Assist Corporate FSO with Self Inspections, eQIP submissions and maintaining Security Personnel files.
* JPAS Back up Manager.
* Schedule outside conferences and symposiums for executive staff members.
* Other duties as assigned by the executive staff and Corporate FSO.

 

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND EDUCATION:
* High School diploma and/or Associates degree.
* 5-7 years of DOD security experience.
* Working knowledge of JPAS, to include eQIP.
* Knowledgeable in the processes of sending/ receiving and destroying classified material.
* Ability to multi-task and manage ones time.
* Ability to perform front office administrative duties and work with executive level management.  
* Attention to detail is a must.

 

DESIRABLE JOB SKILLS:
* Working knowledge of SWFT, ISFD and eFCL.  
* Ability to submit CAC and RapidGate requests.
* Completion of Facility Security Officer and other security related courses.

Senior Fusion Systems Research and Development Engineer

Fusion systems design and development lead position targeting research proposal efforts, R&D projects, and Program of Record automated hard and soft fusion objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Design and development of C2 automated hard and soft fusion technologies to include framework designs, automated data fusion algorithms, higher level fusion (L2-L5) components and architectures, geo-spatial tracking, target state estimation, command and control, and decision management capabilities
  • Technical direction for fusion systems technology development, performance assessment, and research application development
  • Preparation and conduct of oral presentation and demonstration of Adaptive Methods fusion technology products to current and potential military/commercial customers, symposia, and government-industry technical working groups
  • Competitive technical proposal preparation
  • Planning and competitive strategy for fusion technology development

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

  • Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics Degree
  • Ten years of research and/or applications development experience in one or more of the mission systems technologies identified above
  • Excellent and verifiable customer and industry peer-group communications skills
  • Proposal preparation experience
  • Prototyping or applications software development
  • Planning and competitive strategy for fusion technology development
  • Capability to generate new business
