In 2001, Adaptive Methods began growing beyond its legacy sonar and signal processing capabilitierdss_tn_862-smallers into non-software product development through a variety of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) projects.  Since then, Adaptive Methods has expanded its production and design capabilities across two divisions.  Prototyping of electronic and sensor based systems, as well as continuing SBIR projects, are conducted at the Company’s Rockville, Maryland location. Rockville has developed and produced a variety of first generation products including the SURTASS Headline and Roll Control (SHARC) system used by the U.S. Navy for towed sensor arrays; and the Deployable Interchangeable Sensor (DISe), which is a reconfigurable, hand-deployable environmental sensor device designed for hazardous environments.  Rockville’s capabilities include solid modeling and design using AutoCAD, SolidWorks MCAD, and Pro/Engineer 3-D Parametric Solid Modeling tools.  Rockville also houses a small prototyping facility where nearly all of the Company’s new product development is conducted.

In 2009, Adaptive Methods expanded its Chattanooga, Tennessee operations to accommodate light manufacturing and fabrication in a 53,500 ft², prototype to production facility.  Now the manufacturing division for the Company, the Chattanooga operation houses a diverse cross section of tenured engineers in 10,000 ft² of engineering and administration offices, and under the same roof 43,500 ft² of production space.  The new facility provides the Company with the ability to fabricate and assemble components into finished products on a large scale.  Capabilities include:rdss-tn-1023-smaller

  • Full range of engineering services: Systems, Electrical, Mechanical...

On our way to securing full ISO 9000 certification in 2010, Adaptive Methods Manufacturing Division offers a broad range of engineering, design, prototyping, and production capabilities.  For more information on manufacturing and production capabilities, contact Adaptive Methods at (423) 648-5840 or TNinfo@adaptivemethods.com.
